I’m one of those New Year’s resolution people. Yup.
They’re not resolutions so much as things I want to work on, try, and think about for the next 12 months.
“Resolution” is just a shorter word. Brevity being the soul of wit and all, I think it works.
So here’s a short list of resolutions for 2024:
- Brevity. I’m going to work on it. More.
- Getting back to watercolor painting. My family stocked me up with brushes, paint, and other supplies at Christmas. I can’t wait to start.
- Create some more JavaScript projects. I have a Bangle.js watch and an unfinished web project calling to me.
- Finish my middle-grade novel. 30K words down, 20K to go!
- Eat more cookies.
- Decide once and for all what I think about the possibility of life on other planets.
I have more things I want to accomplish in 2024, but I can’t write about them publicly — yet. Exciting events are afoot in the early part of the year and I can’t wait to share.
I’d love to hear from you! Do you make New Year’s resolutions or do you like to let the year unfold like a pop-up book? Tell me in the comments, send me an email, or think really, really hard and maybe I’ll get your message.
